Happy Mandela Day!!!
My RoostStrokes on my painting journey was a very exciting project but also the most challenging artwork I have painted so far into 1 year of exploring my paintbrush. Exciting because this project is very dear to my heart as it takes me down memory lane to my early childhood with my mom as a poultry farmer and my daily interactions with the birds.
More recently, this project takes me to Keywest Florida where, last year, today we celebrated my sister’s 40th birthday as there were chickens all around and among them a rooster which looked much like the rooster I painted during this project. Happy birthday Dr. Faithful Osawe 🙂Â
Abiding mostly to the instructions in the 50 Small Paintings (beginner) book, while bursting into song in-between, I was able to fill the page with a rooster I am proud of!
