ROWINGSTROKES

My Rowing Strokes on my painting journey reveal the step-by-step process during the painting of my fourth artwork, a rowboat. This was the first part of the series.

This long process was partly a story-telling experience where I indulged my audience in how I began using both my left and right hand actively from childhood. You will also witness my, again, failed free-styling attempt (this time) at colour mixing.

Reverting back to the 50 Small Paintings (beginner) book, and sipping on some fine cabernet-sauvignon merlot blend of a South African-branded wine, I began painting the base / ledge on which the rowboat was resting on with black acrylic paint.
